Los Angeles, CA July 28, 2009 — Summit Entertainment announced today that Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of “Victoria” in the studio’s upcoming production of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. Actress, Rachelle Lefevre, who portrayed the character in TWILIGHT as well as the upcoming release of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE will start filming in Vancouver this coming August.

Ohhh Rachelle we will miss you :(

    Power play by Kristen, backed up by Rob, to get Rachelle replaced. This “scheduling conflict” was news to her, since she was still giving interviews last week about being excited to work on the third flick!

    This makes me so mad. Rachelle was the one character in this series I could look at and feel she was EVERYTHING that the book wanted her to be, she WAS Victoria

    It’s unacceptable - why they can’t schedule shoots around her is crazy, replacing her is drastic.

    Rumours are spreading that the decision to replace Rachelle with Bryce at the climax of the role of Victoria is a marketing ploy!

    Bryce is considered more popular/well known/more experienced than Rachelle and therefore the reason use her alternate film schedule is just to cover up the fact that they want a more ‘well known’ cast!

    UNBELIEVEABLE!

    There’s also the thought that they want to create the eclipse buzz because the rob and Kristen pregnancy ’scandal’ has gone sour…

    they’ll do anything to sell a movie!
