Meet Stephenie Meyer – 10 Lucky Fans Can!

LITTLE, BROWN BOOKS FOR YOUNG READERS TO HOST AN INTIMATE GATHERING OF TWILIGHT FANS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO MEET STEPHENIE MEYER

TWILIGHT INTERNATIONAL FAN EVENT TO CELEBRATE UPCOMING RELEASE OF THE TWILIGHT SAGA: THE OFFICIAL ILLUSTRATED GUIDE

US/CANADIAN FAN SWEEPSTAKES ON THETWILIGHTSAGA.COM

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, a division of Hachette Book Group, will host a special International Fan Event, featuring Twilight fans from around the world. Ten fans will be chosen to have a once-in-a-lifetime intimate meeting with international bestselling author Stephenie Meyer. The event coincides with the upcoming release of The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide (April 12, 2011; $24.99).

Little, Brown is partnering with the Twilight Saga publishers in Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Taiwan and the United Kingdom to bring together each country’s respective Twilight fan. The fan selected from each country will receive an advance copy of The Official Illustrated Guide and get to talk extensively with Meyer, who will answer their Twilight-related questions.

“The one thing I miss most about my first book tour was the chance I had then to spend quality time with my readers,” said Meyer. “At an event with just ten or twenty people, I was able to get to know everyone a little bit. I could also more effectively answer each person’s questions. I’m so excited to have that opportunity again, and to get to spend time with fans from many different places and backgrounds.”

“We receive hundreds of travel requests for Stephenie from our foreign publishing partners every year,” said Megan Tingley, Senior Vice President and Publisher of Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. “Since it is physically impossible for one author to be in so many places, we thought this would be a great way to bring some fans to her.”

The Official Rules for the sweepstakes to select the fan from the United States (as well as one from Canada), including entry details and eligibility requirements, can be found on TheTwilightSaga.com.

The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide provides readers with exclusive new material and everything they need to further explore the unforgettable world Stephenie Meyer created in Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. The Guide also includes character profiles, outtakes, a conversation with Meyer, genealogical charts, maps, extensive cross-references, and much more. Originally announced as “The Official Guide,” The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide includes illustrations from several artists, including Young Kim, the illustrator behind the #1 New York Times bestselling Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Volume 1.

In five years, Stephenie Meyer has become a worldwide publishing phenomenon. The Twilight Saga’s translation rights have been sold in nearly 50 countries and 116 million copies have been sold worldwide.

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Soundtrack Good Luck Charms?

Twilight Examiner Amanda Bell has written:

So The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Kristen Stewart had her say in the Twilight soundtrack, effectively propelling Iron & Wine’s whimsical “Flightless Bird” to the homes of millions (while co-star Nikki Reed and director Catherine Hardwicke helped to coax Robert Pattinson into putting some of his own work on there too). She may not have had much to do with the soundtrack for her latest film Adventureland, but the sounds and feel of the film are pretty trendy – if you’re one of the handful of people (like myself) who think fondly of the 1980′s.

Kristen Stewart, who dominated her role in Adventureland alongside also-brilliant co-stars Jesse Eisenberg and Ryan Reynolds, may be a good-luck charm for decent soundtracks, it seems. Adventureland’s soundtrack includes the classics like Lou Reed, The Cure, Outfield, and David Bowie, our wouldn’t-be-the-80′s-without-them favorites, but it also brings back some, perhaps, of our less favored artists such as Falco, giving us a new perspective on the sound. One of the more prominent songs throughout the film, “Pale Blue Eyes,” by The Velvet Underground, sort of echos one portion of the story/theme of Adventureland. In any case, the quality of the music isn’t too bad, considering it was a time in American music when there were some real winners, but there were also some real losers (think Rick Astley… arguably). While I’m not sure it ranks up there with the Twilight soundtrack in originality, it’s coalescence with the theme, tone, mood, and even look of its respective film is quite extraordinary. The list and purchasing information for the soundtrack is available here. Whether Kristen will be singing in her upcoming biopic about Joan Jett, The Runaways, is as yet unknown.

As for Robert Pattinson, his work on the Twilight soundtrack (as well as that of song-writers Bobby Long, Marcus Foster, and Sam Bradley – his long-time friends) might have, okay, did have something do with that album’s sucess, which was paramount in 2008 and saw repeated success with the release of its deluxe edition as well. He is featured, this year, on the How to Be soundtrack in 3 songs. Though part of the animus for the thus-far successful sales of the album may be the fact that a select few (very few; 250, in fact) pre-orderers will be getting their hands on a Robert Pattinson-autographed copy, in large part it is due to the ever-growing fanbase for Rob’s musical gifts. Whether or not he is on the Little Ashes soundtrack is yet to be seen.

Meanwhile, they, alongside Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Peter Facinelli, Jackson Rathbone, and Kellan Lutz sit pretty on the top of the IMDb STARmeter list (see here) and Robert Pattinson’s chances of success with a new Indie album continues to rise (see here). It’s hell being perfect, for these two!
