GQ.com: What was the hardest thing about staying in shape?
Kellan Lutz: There’s always food on set and every time you do a scene change you have downtime and you’re at craft service. I’ve never been on a strict diet but there’s always food around. We ate a lot of protein. All the guys had nutritionists who would bring us little salads with tuna or turkey every hour or two hours: just small portions so you always kept your metabolism burning. Between sets we’d run to the gym on and work out for half an hour. Most of our characters were topless throughout the movie so we didn’t have to worry about sweating and ruining the wardrobe.

Luke Evans told us that he and Henry Cavill would have a weekly steak “cheat” day…
It’s always good to have an off day. We would have a pizza day, we would have a junk food day, we would have a beer day… Most of the time we were working out so much and eating so well that we could do that after set and it would be fine because our bodies were burning so many calories. So we weren’t really too cautious: after set we’d all hang out and grab a drink. Then probably hit the gym after that. [laughs]

Working out drunk is perhaps not the best idea…
Well, it gives you a little buzz… [laughs]

Actor Kellan Lutz celebrated Valentine’s Day with his girlfriend Sharni Vinson at Sugar Factory American Brasserie at Paris Las Vegas on Tuesday, Feb. 14.

In Las Vegas for MAGIC’s Dylan George and Abbot + Main event, Lutz and his lady joined a group of friends for a family-style feast. Sugar Factory’s signature thin crust pepperoni pizza was the go-to for the handsome actor, while Vinson enjoyed a seared tuna Nicoise salad. Lutz sipped on an Oceans Blue oversized goblet throughout dinner. The pair laughed and smiled with friends throughout the evening, as well as shared an oversized red velvet sundae before heading next door for a candy splurge at Sugar Factory’s retail store.

Lutz’s go-to sweet? “Gummy Bears are my favorites,” he said. He went straight to the chewy treats in the bulk candy section, but not before stopping to take photographs with dozens of fans. The actor smiled, hugged and put his arms around fans as they quickly gathered to get a glimpse of the Twilight superstar.

The “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1” stud wore an all-black commando gear outfit and black sunglasses as he raced down the street.

Kellan Lutz talks with The Advocate, here are a few of his questions:

What about your shirtless photo shoots? It seems like you’d have more control over those.

Yeah, I have to be conscious of that too. I’ve done a lot of photo shoots lately for the press coming up with Immortals and Breaking Dawn, and every photographer wants to get the topless shot. We’ve really had to be choosy and not do that for every magazine. I’ve actually been trying to keep my clothes on more.

This wouldn’t be an issue if you just got really fat for a role.

Hey, I would love that. It would be so fun to lose weight or gain weight to play a role that’s so outside of me.

There are paparazzi shots of you and your Twilight costar Peter Facinelli holding hands, which showed a sense of humor about your public image.

Oh, it’s funny. Peter’s great to look up to. He’s like a father figure to me. He’s young, but he’s been in this industry for a long time, so it’s great to go to him for counsel. What do they call Peter and I — Pellan? Pellan for life!

Do you not worry about gay rumors?

I don’t Google myself, but I’ve heard that people think I’m gay. I’ve heard it all. See, I don’t really go after girls. Most of the girlfriends I’ve had have come after me. So it’s really funny when girls get offended because I don’t hit on them. They’ll transform their insecurity into, “Oh, that makes sense, because I heard you’re into guys and have a boyfriend.” I’m like, “Seriously? That’s your tactic to get me to like you?” There will always be rumors, but I know who I am.

Kellan Lutz talks to Ryan Seacrest about Immortals, Breaking Dawn, Renesmee and girlfriends!

Relativity Media has announced 11.11.11 as the release date for their upcoming 3-D epic, Immortals. This monster size motion picture features an incredible cast including Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, Stephen Dorff, Freida Pinto, Kellan Lutz among many others. If director Tarsem Singh’s previous work is any sign of what to expect, this should be pretty fantastic.
