“Robert Pattinson, the 22 year old London born actor who plays the role of Edward Cullen in the blockbuster film Twilight (and the upcoming sequel New Moon) is a reluctant megastar.
Before rising to super stardom last fall, Robert played a supporting role in Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after taking the part of Edward in Twilight.”
“I can guarantee, 200 percent, that the page is fake. In fact, I can guarantee that every single Rob Pattinson profile is also a fake.
How? Well…
…because I called Pattinson’s manager today, and the person who picked up the phone told me that the actor—who, to be fair, possesses many other impressive communication tools, including hair that can pick up radio waves from Neptune—is not on Facebook. At all.”
Robert Pattinson has heaped praise on his Twilight costar Emily Stewart – insisting she is an “amazing” actress.
The hunky British actor – who plays Edward Cullen in the film adaptation of the Stephenie Meyer novel – says Stewart was one of the reasons he wanted to star in the vampire franchise.
He explains, “I think Kristen is amazing! She’s going to be the best film actress.
When last we saw “Twilight” vampire Laurent, he had aided the Cullens, turned his back on his fellow nomads and vanished into the woods of Forks.
Now, with a new director and a much-anticipated sequel just weeks away from filming, Edi Gathegi is eager to channel his character’s evil side — and find true love in the process.
“It was a tiny little independent film — did moderately well in the box office,” Gathegi laughed when he stopped by the MTV News studios for an exclusive interview to discuss “New Moon” and his latest movie, “My Bloody Valentine 3-D.” Asked how his life has changed in the seven weeks since the vampire flick’s record-breaking opening weekend, he grinned and said: “I’ve gotten a lot of MySpace requests.”
Edi Gathegi confirms that the Twilight follow up New Moon starts shooting in March. He says he will reprise his role as the nomadic rogue vampire Laurent in the next film version directed by Chris Weitz and based on the Stephenie Meyer saga.
Gathegi, who’s currently promoting his part as Deputy Martin in the just released My Bloody Valentine 3D, reports that the new vampire movie would be shooting in Vancouver, Rome and Los Angeles.
“I am looking forward to working with Chris Weitz,” notes Gathegi. And while Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is a Gathegi friend, he maintains there was no hard feelings when the director decided not to return for the next one. “It was a mutual decision,” he adds. “I don’t think she’d want me to feel sorry for her.”
